REGRETS

He flew across the world to see her, in order to tell her that he loved her. He had not seen her in three years and had no idea what her life was like at that point of time. All he felt was that they had not given each other everything that they had all those years ago. He felt that if he did not do this, he would spend the rest of his life regretting and never being able to move on at all.

So he packed nothing, bought a plane ticket and left.

The plane journey was hard. He had many emotions running through his mind but a lot of it was mainly fear.

She could be doing so many other things. Things that were extremely different from what they had once shared.

He landed, rushed through customs and took a taxi with her address clutching in his hand.

He did not want to knock on her door. So he waited across the street for some sign of life.  A car pulled over and he saw her. She looked exactly the same as before.

However, she was not alone.

She was carrying a baby. A man got out of the car, gave her a kiss on her lips and they walked together to the front door.

He started to walk away; knowing that all was lost; knowing that he truly had to move on; knowing that he was indeed too late.
