YOU NEVER SPEAK A WORD

You go through life with me physically in it. You sleep beside me. You eat at the dinning table with me. You go grocery shopping with me. You talk to me but you never speak to me.

You never tell me about your fears, your joy, your sorrow. I am merely a physical body. You see my body, i see your body, but not your soul, not the person you are inside.

I once used to know you, so long ago. Once used to speak the same words as you. Once used to listen and hold on to every little thing you say. But ever since that one fateful day, you closed up just as easily as you once opened up to me.

You talk to me. I talk to you. I speak to you but you –

You never speak a word-

and that-

breaks my heart-

every single time-

I look at you.

  1. You’ve made me see the difference between talking to someone and speaking to them. Thank you for that. :)
