FLASHES OF LIGHT DURING THE DARKEST TIMES
Posted by blackvspurple

Nature works in mysterious yet organised ways. First starting off by letting its residents know that everything will be fine by letting us see the moon and the stars, so bright, illuminating the outlines of clouds. Random but small lightnings start erupting throughout the sky. If we are not fast enough, they slip through us like passing moments and people we fail to capture.
These lightnings however, look non threatening, look beautiful and honestly nature couldn’t get any more beautiful – or so one would think while looking at the random shapes of clouds, the moon and the stars. Lights from faraway buildings of faraway lands illuminate the sky further. What could be more beautiful than having an orchestra of man-made lights complimenting nature’s true beauty?
But my friend, if you had patience, you’ll know that all these are just mini signs of what is to come. Something more beautiful, more magical, more tragic.
The sky starts to darken even though night had already fallen a long time ago. The clouds cover up the moon, putting out the bright big light that was always there. Soon the stars are no more as well. All you see my friend, is this huge cloud approaching the faraway land and you by the brightness of the lightning that that faraway land could be in huge danger but you stare in awe at the beauty of this tragedy. The sky breaks into many, many segments, separated by different lengths of lightning.
You put your camera on continuous shot mode and hope and pray that by some stroke of luck, you manage to capture at least one photo that’s worthy of jaw dropping and loss of words.
But then suddenly capturing this beautiful memory seems unimportant, so you keep the camera away and right at that moment, that’s when the moment you were waiting two hours for happens. One flash of lightning crashes through the sky, attacking fiercely on this faraway land you have been spying on. But you don’t feel a loss, oh no, not at all. Instead everything in you freezes and your jaw drops. You saw that once in a lifetime lightning that no one in that faraway land could have seen and suddenly it didn’t matter that you didn’t have prove, for your eyes are your best camera.
You feel on top of the world – everything else fades away, and it’s only you and the beauty you feel in front of you.
Once you finally recover from this euphoria, you spot a shape among these dark clouds of doom. A shape so familiar. A shape – the only shape that feels like home. A shape of a heart, that can only be seen when lightning strikes and that’s when you realise that there is no fun in seeing this beauty without the one you love.
The shape disappears and now all you see is black, but your love one’s face is imprinted in your mind so when you spot the next clear, bright lightning, you can’t help but tear a little because all you want is that one someone who knows you inside out to experience every single thing that nature is making you feel.
