RUN BY SNOW PATROL

I write this, with the above acoustic version of this song playing for the second time in my ears. I’m filled with emotions that I think that no amount of words can describe exactly how I feel. I write now, to try to express what this song means to me. I am trying to find the word to describe this feeling I feel in my heart, soul, but I can’t describe it, because I myself have trouble trying to understand what this feeling is, of calmness after a hard day, of peace, of serenity.

To think i might not see those eyes, Makes it so hard not to cry. As we say our long goodbyes, I nearly do. Light up, Light up, as if you have a choice. Even if you cannot hear my voice, i’ll be right beside you dear.

This song is poetry. I’d give anything to see Snow Patrol live, and it would mean so much to me if they play this one song. This one song that fills my soul with so much passion and hope. I’m very sure that i’m not the first person who feels this way when they listen to this particular song from this great band. This video below taken by a fan proves it.

While watching this video, I teared. This is the first time that I have teared while watching a live performance. What I was feeling was the thoughts of the people watching this band play right in front of them – thinking about how they must be feeling, and i got overwhelmed by it all, and i teared, imagining I was one of those lucky people in the crowd singing a long to this very special song.

Maybe, subconsciously, why I get this way whenever this song is playing is because of the person who introduced me to this band, this song. Run was the first song from Snow Patrol I heard. I still remember what i said after listening to this song. “Wow, I wish I could write poetry like this.” And to this day, I still wish I could create something as true and beautiful as this song.

I’ll sing it one last time for you, and then we really have to go.
