WAITING

I watch the hour hand
go by,
waiting for the time I’ll talk to you.

I watch the minute hand
go by,
waiting for the time I’ll talk to you.

I watch the second hand
go by,
waiting for the time I’ll talk to you.

I watch the day go by,
hour by hour,
minute by minute,
second by second,
all in hopes of talking to you.

I watch the day go by,
hour by hour,
minute by minute,
second by second,
wondering if you’re thinking of me.

I watch the day go by,
hour by hour,
minute by minute,
second by second,
wondering if you’re hoping to talk to me.
